Forum Akta OKU 2008

Anjuran : Kumpulan Penyelidikan Pendidikan Inklusif dan Pembinaan Jati Diri
Objektif :
1. Meningkatkan kefahaman serta kesedaran peserta tentang impak Akta OKU 2008 bagi sektor pendidikan di Malaysia
2. Menyediakan ruang untuk perbincangan serta perkongsian maklumat dan ilmu berkaitan dengan hak-hak pendidikan OKU di bawah Akta OKU 2008 di kalangan OKU, ibu bapa dan pendidik.
3. Menyediakan ruang kepada peserta untuk memberi pendapat, dan maklum balas kepada pihak-pihak berwajib demi untuk memperkasakan pendidikan OKU di Malaysia.

Have been wondering whether to go for this Forum Akta OKU 2008???
In the end, I just put my alarm so to ring at 7.20am..=)
Reach there around 8.20am I guess and there are many lecturers, visitors from schools, associations, government sectors as well as private sectors being invited to this forum...*_^

Yea, you are right, just 4 of us attended this forum ~ TC, Laishin, Yanshiang and me..
First was the ucapan by YAB Senator Prof Datuk Dr. Ismail Salleh.. He is the President of the Malaysian Association for the Blind and He is also the first OKU senator being appointed by the Prime Minister...=) Read it HERE.

Later on was the group photo session..Because Prof Datuk. have other appointments at roughly 10am something...=)
Group PhotoThe first forum was conducted by our programme coordinator, Dr. Manisah. The panels are En. Mah Hassan Hj. Omar..He was the chairman for Persatuan Gabungan OKU and also the vice president for the National Council for the Blind Malaysia...The second panel was En. Mohammad Faizal(Visually impaired) whom represents Malaysian Bar Council...Third panel~Puan Habibah a lecturer and also the Secretary for Parents' Resource For Autism (PR4A) and the last panel was Mejar Sazali whom is the President of Persatuan Pendidik Pendidikan Khas Malaysia. *Now only I get to know there is such Persatuan Pendidik Pendidikan Khas Malaysia exists..=)*
Later on, the second part of the forum being held. It was chaired by Dr. Hanafi, our lecturer as well..=) Panels who participate (am I using the correct term???) in this forum are Prof. Dato Dr. Zalizan (Ketua Kumpulan Penyelidikan Pendidikan Inklusif dan Pembinaan Jati Diri, FPEND, UKM), En. Bong (Pengarah Bahagian PK), Cik Norani (Pengarah Bhg Perancangan & Pembangunan Kem. P'bgunan Wanita, Keluarga & Msykt) and last but not list Dr. Aminah Bee (Pen. Pengarah Bhg P'bgunan Kesihatan Keluarga, Kem. Kesihatan MY)
Many topics regarding the welfare and also the admins were being thrown out to the panels.... What is 'HOT' then?~~~~BIM and KTBM. Clarification made during the end of the session was that BIM was the Language that deaf community used to communicate but for the writing and answering exam purposes, they still have to use KTBM which is not a LANGUAGE but a CODE (~according to Mejar)
Another thing being clearified is that it is not Akta OKU 2007 but 2008 because diperkenan oleh Raja in the year of 2008 bah...So it is Akta OKU 2008..=P

This forum was an interesting one..Haha...I have no regrets on making myself available for that !!=) FYI, This is my first and very first time attending forumsssss=P.....And what makes it interesting is that this forum is regarding OKU. It was related to what am I doing now......=) and of cause because of my fellow coursemate, classmate and senior..=)
~Will continue the (II) part of it after I finished my reading..=)

it is very great.really gain many knowledge and can see ol tos hebat person sekaligus.but tat day i m not so feeling well coz stress of kmk so not so enjoy.all d way jz force myself to listen and go back get heavy headache.anyway it really really gain so much of knowledge and ol d audien and panel comment and response are so critical like y not use kurikulum for autistik,tching method, teacher prblem,environment and us make them disable and so on. akta for me look as perfect ody but frm audien and pensyarah comment i found it d akta really got many weekness.and tos oku really respon well in their masalah so we as novice can get idea to help them .

=) My uni got a few OKU students...They are studying in various faculties...As for my faculty, there are a few who are hearing impaired and visually impaired..=)
But this forum Akta OKU 2008 is not actually for that only, is actually for all the sectors (private and government) to discuss about the new Act..=) Haha...don't forget I am taking this course bah..=P
