Is the SECOND day I am here in Bandung!!
Due to the flu, I 'manage' to wake up at 5.30am!!Can you imagine? Is 5.30am and I am suppose to wake up 1 hour later because our gathering time is 7.45am!!Hahaha....but then again, I am able to take my own sweet time to prepare myself and write part of the journal/ diary. Ohya, forget to tell you guys that we all are supposed to write our own detailed diary so to pass up and compile it to become a journal!! WE ARE GOING TO PUBLISH OUR OWN JOURNAL!!
6.30am ~ Breakfast time! We ordered 2 nasi goreng (NasGor), 1 roti bakar, 2 teh ais and 1 coffee since they are just catering for 3 person per room.
At 7.30am, all of us (*Kak Su, Kak Linda, Kak Ina and me) went to the hotel lobby. at 7.45am, all were ready and we headed towards UPI (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia as I mentioned it in my earlier post) for a seminar between the 2 countries ~ Indonesia & Malaysia.
After teabreak was the 2nd session leaded by the UPI lecturers where Pak Djadja talk about the topic ' Perkembangan Pendidikan Luar Biasa di Indonesia' while Pak Musyafak Ashari, MPd talk about 'Kurikulum Pendidikan Luar Biasa'. Yea, you are right, they don't call it Pendidikan Khas as Malaysia, they called it Pendidikan Luar Biasa for the Special Education.
The Special Education in Indonesia started as early as 1901 ~ the first school for the visually impaired, 1927 ~ School for the intellectually handicapped, 1930 ~ School for children with deaf and hard of hearing. The first university programme in special education was established in the year of 1964...There are 5 main programmes ~ Visually impaired, Hearing impaired, developmental disabilities, physically handicapped and lastly is emotional handicapped which is a temporary disability. After the talk by both Pak Djadja and Pak Musyafak Ashari was a Q&A session....
3rd session was leaded by PM Dr.Norani (Pendidikan Khas di Malaysia) and Dr. Mohd Hanafi (Kurikulum Pendidikan Khas) from UKM itself. And of cause followed by a Q&A session after that.
Lunch!!!~~BANDUNG TRADITIONAL FOOD again!!Yippie...is sooooooooo niceeeeeeeeee....=) ~ Awug
2pm, we visited 2 labs ~ Pusat Layanan Mahasiswa Tunanetra..There are roughly 8 computers in the lab and each of it consists of programmes where the computer can 'talk' and inform the user which part is he/ she suppose to click etc....
The other lab was the Makmal for Tunagrahita where we can actually see intervention rooms, assessment room, consultation room, teaching aids etc...The tools were actually built by the students itself. They were more towards hands-on.....
Our next activity was Ice-Breaking. We sat alternately with the UPI students so to mix around..This session continues till 3.40pm and followed by a photo session.
We went to Cihampelas Street. It was crowded!!!And only at that time I realized that there are no buses on the road. They just got vans (*Taxis) which called Angkutan Kota.
When we get down from the bus, people selling things eg. key chains, kain batik, kuihssss come around us; a few mothers carrying their babies using sarong asking for money....They followed where we go till we reached Cihampelas Walk...
We separated into small groups and walk on our own.. Yanshiang and me went on our own cause we wanted to try out the Japanese food there...But...just ma ma dei la..nothing special~~>_<
7pm, time to go back!!And Pak Dadang (Pak Supir~Pak Driver) pass by the 2 schools which we will be visiting tomorrow. The schools are near to each other but far from the hotel!!
Hurray, after the 2 schools, Tangkuban Parahu will be our next destination tomorrow!!Ohya, Tangkuban Parahu is an active volcano, it was cold up there and so we were adviced to bring along our own sweater!!*_^ cant wait for tomorrow!!
