Phew!!Tomorrow is Wednesday dy!!And that is the day for my PPK Micro Teaching..Dahlah get flu..Sigh...=(
For those who don't know what is micro teaching, here is the explanation~ where your friends/ your coursemates will be acting as your students and you need to teach them as though they were 'small kids'...And if you are doing the same major as me~Hearing Impairments, you will need to use sign language as well to teach..
Imagine that you just learnt Sign Language for 1 sem=4 months plus and you were expected to teach...But we do practice everyday with friends and also TC la...*Thanks TC*..Haha...but still cacat la our sign language..=)
Lotsa benefits if you know sign language..Haha...what comes to my mind now is that we can use sign language to 'scold' someone...=P According to our lecturer, overseas don't really care about SL dy because their deaf community are speaking..They are just like you and me...Sounds strange??That is why we are 30 years way back compare to the others..=)
Got few things you can do to "amplify your hearing''..
1. You can get hearing aids
2. Cochlear Implant(CI) ~ You have to learn talking and AV method being used (*AV stands for Auditory-Verbal) where the person will learn to recognize the voice adn the sound without looking at the lips of the speaker..=)
CI is a very expensive way to 'get back' your hearing...It costs around RM80,000 if I am not mistaken..There are pros and cons for CI..
For those who did CI, You will be and SUPPOSEDLY to be admitted to a normal class (According to the CI's concept) but from what our information gathered, there are still students with CI are still 'lost' in special class..How come????Find it yourself..=)
When you do CI, it will be a whole life thingy..Why I say so?Because it is an electronic device where one of the side will be planted into your head(skull) and the other part will be like magnet and attached to the device outside of your head... You will be encouraged to do CI when you are at a younger age because is easier for you to pick up the language (*to learn how to talk, to recogniZe the voice of your surroundings*) Yea, for sure the early the intervention, the better..=) After CI, you will be attending some speech therapy session...So to learn how to recognize voice in the surroundings..=)
Gosh, why am I talking about that??Huh...drag away from my actual topic...=P Hm..Hopefully tomorrow will be smooth....=) Kinda tension when you are the kinda last batch to do the micro teaching cause the lecturer will expect you to learn from the previous coursemates' mistakes and not repeating the same mistakes again...So....Whoa!!Please pray for me...=O
