Cards from The Art Town

Bought some cards from TAT and get it from the owner. Those cards are custom made cards and are unique. Gave out to lecturers to show a little appreciation from four of us.

*Thanks for being such caring lecturers*

In the afternoon, brought grandma to Dataran Pahlawan. Had some lunch there and the most important part is ~ my grandma is in wheelchair and she needs to use the OKU toilet. BUT ~~~ there are just 3 OKU toilets around in that mall *Can u imagine how far an OKU have to walk if he/she needs a toilet?*

1st toilet ~ near RM5 shop as well as the heritage gallery. When I opened the door, the light is blinking (*Non-stop~Rosak*), cockroaches everywhere, and the cleanliness is like ~ YUCKS

2nd toilet ~ my mum went to search for another since the 1st one is so TERRIBLE! the second one turn out to be very negative as well ~ Not functioning. There was a stick blocking the door to open from outside.

we were pissed and I recorded the condition of the first toilet as well as took some pictures. After that, we planned to get back home and when we were at the entrance/exit, the security pointed towards one direction and they have to get there for toilet!!! *We actually round the whole mall just to look for toiletssssssssssssssss*

ATTENTION~~~I realized that people or perhaps the whole community is not aware of the needs of people with special needs, they need understanding! They are just like you and me ~ Please bare in mind that we are as well people with special needs OK!Please be alert with the surroundings and help those who need, make the environment people friendly, fill with facilities with all kinds!!

And the worst is after I emailed to the admin in Dataran Pahlawan, no any replied emails saying they will take attention etc. I am a customer, Please at least give me a FEEDBACK that YOU ALL WILL PAY ATTENTION OR DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS!

We are here because of HIM and because of HIM, we were able to do so many things and to admire the wonders of HIS love and creation!! There are too many things that bordered us in life and some will say that ~ I don't have time for HIM because of ____________(*Haha....you can fill in the blanks*) but then we almost forget that HE is everywhere and our Guardian Angels are always at our side...=) We can still say a short prayer or just plainly 'talk' to HIM about our feelings, what we had gone through throughout the day just within a few minutes...=) But many think that, I need to back to my prayer corner, prayer room, adoration room in church only i can say a prayer....=) How about u?? Hehe....mind to share?=)

~Last Day Prac in SMKTMu~

Time : 11.50am till school dismiss ~ 12pm
Date : 17th July 2009, Friday which is the last day of our practical
Venue : Canteen

This is the full group photos with the gals and the guys....but then too bad Ayu is not there with us..=(

These are what students gave to me...their BIODATA, pressent and their photos..=)

How Do I feel>??

I really feel grateful that I am actually in this field...As most of u know that I am not really into this teaching thingy before this.....I prefer mix with them only and not teaching them cause I think that my teaching skills are ~~OUT!:P LOL.....but then I love the school and the students...=)

I fall in love with all of them!!-=) The students are mischievious, they tend to talk about u right in front of u because they knew that u are not familiar with their signs...*_^, they tend to joke with u....and many more....What I realise throughout the whole practicum is that, students and teachers are just like one big family where teachers are the parents, brothers and sisters while the students are their children, their younger brothers and sisters...*_^

The normal students tends to fight back and argue what the teacher said..but then it will be different when u deal with the hearing impaired students....They respect you as a teacher, meanwhile they treat u like friends.=) How magic is this right?! Yeah, is true...you only can realise this if u experience it urself...If not, u wun be able to understand how I feel...

I miss my students, I miss teaching them science....
I miss their angels' voices...
I miss the laughters with them,
I miss everything in that single school...=)

Without this bunch of people, I would have hatred my practical life...and might be not entering this profession; not even thought of entering after graduating from it....Thanks to all that helped me during the moment of struggling...I at least knew what I should do when I grad next year..*_^

I just can't really explain in words how fun, how nice, how great having them to be ur company...having all the fun teachers around u...having all the funny voices calling u a "cow" (*gu* in hokkien means cow), shouting, mumbling............Missing those..=)

That is the end of my 2 months practical life...Is a GREAT experience for me..and is worthwhile to share and to tell the others about it.=)

Feeling happy and enjoyed,
~Joyce~

Bandung Part 4

As usual, we gathered at the lobby at 7.30am and headed towards SPLB Mutiara Bunda (School of Inclusive).

Around 30 minutes later, we arrived at SD Mutiara Bunda. We entered a hall for a short briefing by Ibu Tina ~ head of the school.

Later then, we were divided into groups of 3. We all went over to Unit Stimulasi Anak (USA) where the kids with special needs were placed there for any assessments, therapies etc.

Kak Ina, Lim and me were in the same group. We were given 1 Tenis. Because of us, they didn't manage to go over to art room but waited for the art teacher to enter their class. Before the art teacher arrived, we actually had a short introduction session. The students there were 'sporting' enough to ask us lots and lots of questions...*_^

There were 3 to 4 teachers and assistants placed in each classrooms. 1 teacher, 1 assistant, 1 ortopedagog and also 1 'guru pendamping' if needed. There are a total of 25 students in the class but 2 were absent including 2 kids with special needs. Dr.Norani and Dr.Hanafi came into 1 Tenis. Hehe....they were having hard time to recognize the kids with special needs since everyone looks 'normal'....*_^

Riko is one of the student with special needs. He is having mobility problem. But due to our lecturer's explanation, the main problem of Riko is that he has eye problem. His eyes muscle made him can't actually concentrate well and that he can't balance himself...

10am, we gathered again and went over to SMP & SMA Mutiara Bunda which is not far away from SD Mutiara Bunda. Since Mutiara Bunda was a private school, therefore the students were wearing their own home clothes...=) The students as well as their coach did a choir performance so to welcome us!!Great one!*_^

12.15pm we went for lunch after a photo session at SMP & SMA Mutiara Bunda. We ate Masakan Padang!!!Nice, I love the beef...=P

at 1.30pm, we were told that there will be a programme regarding Masters Study prepared for us by UPI lecturers...Yea, for sure we attended it. After that, all of us were half dead and decided not to go for Wisata Budaya ~ Jalan-jalan..........=P

But we felt fresh after a short rest. 5.30pm, ChekNing and me went for a walk around the hotel. We were actually curious on how the residents go into the housing areas...and so, we entered one of the small lane and realized that there are computer shops, dobi, sundry shops etc....those essential shops are there!!!

We went over to UPI to tae pictures and walked upwards.. Hehe...I bought 1 bar of dark chocolate and tried some Batagor (Baso Tahu Goreng)....Erm, it tasted nice at first but feel 'jelak' after eating too much of it....*_^

Bandung Part 3

Third day!!

Woke up at 5.44am which equals to 6.44am Malaysia time...Since we turned off the hitter last night and it needs time to heat up the water. Therefore, I have to bathe cold water!!The cold water ..Hm....I should say is ICE WATER!!! freaking cold ler! Get ready, make up etc...all the stuffs a girl should do, we are actually running out of time!*_^ Ohya, breakfast, we ordered 1 fried rice and 2 bowls of porridge..But 5 of us cant manage to finish the food!!Haha...I guess I shall feel hungry soooooooonnnnn....=P

7.40am we left hotel and we reached SPLB Tunanetra after 20 minutes. We were welcomed by the teachers there and Pak Edwin was the representative. He is a visually impaired person...According to pak Edwin, there are 114 students and 60 teachers in the school. Later on, we were divided into 3 groups where our group visited the kindergarden (TK) and the Sekolah Dasar (Primary School). The youngest in TK class was just 5 years old. Her name is Anis. She was enrolled one month ago..

I felt amazed with the programmes formed in the school..There were actually 4 stages in a single compound ~ TK (Tadika), Sek Dasar (Primary Sch), SMP (Junior High Sch) and SMA (Senior High Sch) and were under the collaboration with the NGO ~Yayasan Penyatun Wyata Guna, as well as Social Welfare Department. UPI also had their own lecturer attached to the school. This system enables the seniors to help the juniors and vice versa. Besides that, the NGO and the Social Welfare Dep can also assist in any programmes held!!I felt great...

at 10.30am, we went over to SPLB Tunarungu (Hearing Impairment). A short welcomed speech was given by the head of school himself. After that, one of the teacher invited us to go over to the hall so to listen and watch the performance by the students there ~ ANGKLUNG!!!!Yea, you are right, they are playing music!!Ohya, forget to say that the students in SPLB Tunanetra also played good music!!!!!!

Later on, we visitied the school compound and lastly we entered the baking room...:P There were 2 students inside and we bought some Roti Bakar from them with Rp 1500 per piece....Support them for sure!!

We left the school at around 1.45pm and reached hotel at 2.15pm for the group members to pray.We gathered again at 2.30pm so to go over to Tangkubang Parahu.

As usual, when we reached there, people selling things 'attacked' us and they followed us throughout the journey...Haha...sometime feels irritating but....nothing much can be done! We jalan jalan on our own (*of cause go by groups) and gather again at 5pm.
The things sold were so much cheaper ler... Tell you here...When we first got up to the kawah there, the pen of 10 per pack was sold at Rp100,000....Then half way through, they cut down the selling price to Rp50,000 per packet...And the moment we got up the tram, the price straight away turun till Rp10,000 per pack!!!!Hahaha...all of us got the lesson not to buy things so early..:P

I bought 2 boxes of strawberries and raspberries...haha...is sooooooooooo sweet!!First time in my life to eat such sweet strawberries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! According to my friends, the strawberries have to finish up before we got down the hill cause it will turned sour!!And is true, when my friend bought it down the hill, the strawberries are sour!!!Hahaha...luckily i ate the sweet ones..*_^

On the way back, we stopped at the place selling Labu, SAtay, Advocado, Jagung bakar etc...This is the first time for me to see Buah Advocado! Since is new to us, so we dicided to get 1kg (Rp7000=Rm2 something) The guys went to one of the stall to eat satay kelinchi ler!!What is SATAY KELINChI????is RABBIT meat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@_@

When we were on the way up to Tangkuban Parahu earlier on, we actually saw cages of rabbits along the road....They are so adorable but yet they are waiting to be slaughter!!!!!!!!

Went back to hotel at around 6.30pm and reached at 7.10pm... It was a tired but yet fun day for me! Waiting for tomorrow>_< hehehe....

Today's Sermon

Went for novene & sunset mass with Lyd...Thought that many people went back dy cause no one was sitting at the 'usual' place ~~~ But then after mass...Hohoho......>_< I met everyone!!Yippie..*Hugs**

Father George was the celebrant for this mass...I find the sermon very interesting and it makes me reflect on my own as well..(*well, normally I will be knocking off / blank in my mind during father's sermon...is an automatic response bah....=P) Haha..but this time I was awake...=)

The servants were given 5 talents of silver, 2 talents and 1 talent each before the master go abroad...The one who received 5 talents went to do business with the money and gained another 5 talents; the one received 2 also did the same thing and gained another 2 talents; but the one with one talent dug a hole and hid his master's money............................

A talent was an ancient coin of great value. Even a person with only one talent, he possessed a great buying power....There was nothing that could stop such person from making a good profit with that single talent......

Actually all of us were given 1 talent (塔冷通)and is depends on how we use it...We should not save the single talent only for our own fear but try to gain back another talent with it! According to Fr. George, we should be a risk-taker and not a care-taker..Why??!! Ok, example, if we have talent in singing, but we keep saying that "I scare I can't throw out my voice bla bla bla...." and still staying away from the choir, we will just get to protect our own talent(instead, our own fear), and cant gain any other talent..

I find it very true...Nowadays, people will be living in their comfort zones, worrying if they are out to the world, what would happen to them etc.. They are not out but yet already feeling scared..They actually have the talent on something, but just didn't make full use of it........Why aren't we doing the best to make full use of this ONE TALENT so that we have no regrets???God give us the one talent so we can make full use of it so that we can win the Master's praise for our good stewardshipof His any gifts...=) Besides feeling the happiness on our own, we can actually make the world a better place to stay..=)

Da bao 'lao shu fen' as my dinner and also 2 curry puffs for tmr's breakfast and lunch I guess..*_^ hahahaha.....nice nice nice...Yummy~~~

big curry puff!!!

Good

Today is All Saints Day and is day of obligation...So, Lydia and me (and supposed Maria*Wink~Wink*) went to HFC for morning mass which started at 7.30am..Haha, seems like long time ago since I wake up so early in the morning just to go somewhere eg. class..=P

Met Pat aka Sardine, Mariana, Alex, Mark aka SeaCucumber, Brenda aka Crabbie, Connie aka Tuna and Bridget aka SeaHorse~Haha...all of them seems not enough sleep...What you guys did last night huh??!!Yea, burning midnight oil i guess..Opps...All the best ya for your upcoming exam=)

What Fr.William said during his sermon catch my attention though...

"He said that when he was studying in the seminary, one of the rev. asked them a question :" where GOOD comes from?" and they 'thought' they were clever enough and gave him all sorts of answers example : Good comes from family members, good comes from the people around us etc...but then he said:" yes, well good comes from family members, people around us; but you all haven't answer my question. Where does GOOD comes from?"

Yea, where does GOOD comes from???that is what I wondering after trying to answer it when Fr.William is asking for the first time..=P

The answer is GOOD comes from God, good comes from the heart. God is good, isn't He?He is the ultimate GOOD...and another thing that impressed me is this sentence ~ happy is just emotional level but JOY is permanent...We sing 'Joy To The World' during Christmas and not 'Happy To The World', don't we?Haha....Think about it*_^
